Pathways Through Loss Retreat
June 8-10
The Hinton Rural Life Center is offering a retreat June 8-10 called Pathways Through Loss. Loss is both a universal and a deeply personal experience. The Pathways Through Loss retreat will be an exploration of the nature of loss, how we face it or avoid it, and some of the ways that we walk (or run) through it. It is open to anyone who is interested in thinking more deeply about loss (which we understand to be more than the experience of death) and how loss affects our lives and the lives of many around us. For questions contact Amy Spivey at amy@hintoncenter.org. Link for registration follows: http://www.hintoncenter.org/Pathways_Through_Loss_Flyer.pdf

Swim with humpback whales and seahorses, scuba through a vibrant coral reef, and take a personal submarine to the ocean floor, where eels and octopi play. As they journey miles below the water's surface, kids plunge into Bible stories of people with deep faith and learn to trust a God whose love is bigger than the sea.

Briarcliff News
Explore Alpha
Alpha is an opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten weeks with thought provoking weekly sessions with a day or weekend away. Each session offers participants the opportunity to enjoy good food, laughter and learning. No question about life or God is seen as too simple or too hostile. Explore questions such as, Is there a God? Why am I here? Where did I come from? Where am I going? Is there really an afterlife? Alpha is for everyone, people from all backgrounds, religions and viewpoints. Many who come may never have been to church; others may attend church but feel they really don't have an understanding the basics of faith.
Briarcliff will host Alpha beginning June 27th. The gathering will be held in Old Fellowship Hall from 6:30-8:30 pm. Everyone is welcome. Invite your friends and neighbors and those you meet in the community. We all have questions. Don't you want answers?
