To help us grow in faith, Briarcliff offers a variety of educational opportunities on Sundays and throughout the week. Below is a list of some of our current offerings. Sunday Classes

New Spirit Class

Age Group:	Young Adults
Where:	Room 13, 1st Floor Education Building

Studying:	"Christianity & World Religions"
Description:	This study is a video-based small-group study and outreach program that explores four major world religions- Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and Judaism, and compares the beliefs of each with those of Christianity. The study deals openly and honestly with questions people ask about other religions. In examining these major world religions and the beliefs of their followers, Christians are urged to build bridges with others so that we might grow in our faith, seek peace in our world, love our neighbor, and find positive ways to share the gospel.

Seekers Class

Studying:	Adult Bible Studies
Description:	This study presents stimulating lessons that explore the biblical message and how to apply it to daily life. The fall study focuses on Exodus & Psalms.

Studying:	"The Shack" by William Young
Description:	In a world where religion seems to grow increasingly irrelevant The Shack wrestles with the timeless question, Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain? The answers Mack, the main character, gets will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as it did him. You'll want everyone you know to read this book.

Friendship Class

Studying:	The Bible, Cover to Cover
Description:	The Friendship Class reads the Bible. This class progresses through the Bible & discusses a new chapter each week.

Koinonia Class

Age Group:	Senior Adults

Studying:	"All Creation Sings, The Voice of God in Nature"
Description:	Almost anywhere we go, nature’s voice is now muted by the sound of traffic and assorted electronic devices. Those who go out to walk or jog are likely to wear a device that keeps them in touch with news or music or speech—so that, intentionally or not, they have shut out nature’s sound and dulled its influence. This little book helps us return to the wonders of nature & God’s wondrous creation.

Additional Classes & Bible Studies

Alpha
6-8 pm, Beginning September 8
Alpha is an opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten weeks. It includes thought provoking weekly sessions with a day or weekend away. Each session offers participants the opportunity to enjoy good food, laughter and learning. No question about life or God is seen as too simple or too hostile. Explore questions such as, Is there a God? Why am I here? Where did I come from? Where am I going? Is there really an afterlife?

Alpha is for everyone, people from all backgrounds, religions and viewpoints. Many who come may never have been to church; others may attend church but feel they really don’t have an understanding the basics of faith.

Briarcliff will host Alpha beginning September 8th. The gathering will be held in Old Fellowship Hall (Lower Level Education Building )from 6-8 pm. Everyone is welcome. Invite your friends and neighbors and those you meet in the community. We all have questions. Don’t you want answers?

Devo's
The Devo’s are a women’s study group that gathers once a month in the homes of the participants. If you are looking for a small study group, this just might be for you. The group began a new study in January. They are reading, In God’s Time, a wonderful study exploring the question, "Does the Bible really predict the end times?" The Devo’s welcome all women who are interested to participate in the discussion. For further information please call Leslie Parham at 770-921-3288.

Disciple Bible Study Online

Have you always wanted to participate in a Disciple Bible study class but business or travel makes attending classes out of the question? Now you can take a Disciple class online. Click here to read about an exciting opportunity to join with others using the Disciple program. Groups will be limited to 12 participants and may include people in the nearby community as well as others from within the United States and even other countries. Times change. We didn’t have a printed Bible until Martin Luther and Gutenberg gave us print in the 16th century. Now we are a busy, mobile society using email and computers.
But we desperately need knowledge of God thru Scripture – and Christian fellowship through communication.

So for those who are unable to meet face-to-face weekly for 2 – 2.5 hours, we have designed an online Wesley class meeting – limited to about 12 persons, with freedom to ponder the questions and discuss the spiritual meanings.

Each week I will help you explore some of the deep spiritual issues that Julia and I thought and prayed about when we wrote the Disciple Manual. I’ll lead you through the whole Bible week by week. I’ll help you focus on key questions for you to discuss with others in your group. Hopefully, together we’ll become even more devoted disciples of Jesus Christ.
