Music Ministries

We believe that music is a gift from God, given to bring us closer to Him. The mission of Briarcliff's music ministry is to bring people into closer relationship with Jesus Christ. To accomplish this goal, we incorporate many different styles of music into our worship services: Classical, contemporary Christian, spirituals, gospel, and traditional. We offer it all!! We want every person, regardless of age or religious background, to feel the Holy Spirit touching their hearts through our music. If you love music, we invite you to participate in our ministry. Our music ministry welcomes all levels of talent.

Chancel Choir

Briarcliff's Chancel Choir, under the direction of Eloise Gerecitano, is open to adults and high school students. There is no audition required, but we hope you have a desire to "make a joyful noise to the Lord", a willingness to commit to weekly rehearsals and the ability to sing in tune. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and gather on Sunday mornings for warm-up at 10:30 a.m. We currently meet in the Choir Room (#202). Community Children's Chorus

While not an official program of the Music Ministry of Briarcliff UMC, we are privileged to house the Northlake Community Children's Chorus on Sunday afternoons, under the direction of Beverly Blissit. This group meets in Room 202.

The schedule is as follows:
4:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m – Preschool Choir (Ages 3, 4, 5)
4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. – Elementary Choir (Grades 1 – 6)

We strongly encourage the children of our church and our community to take advantage of this fine opportunity. The small tuition fee will be waived for all children of Briarcliff UMC members, and some scholarships are available. For more information, please contact Beverly Blissit at bblissit@hotmail.com.

Briarcliff Ringers

The Briarcliff Ringers is a four octave adult handbell choir, under the direction of Linda Wrightson. No audition is required, but basic music reading skills is highly suggested. This choir rehearses weekly from 6:00 p.m. – 6:55 p.m. in Room 202. There are currently openings in the choir. Instrumental Music & Solos

If you play a musical instrument or enjoy singing as a soloist, we encourage you to share your time and talent with one our church. To participate in the traditional music of the 11 a.m. service, please contact the church music office.
