Mrs. Dena Kitchens joined the staff at Briarcliff United Methodist church on August 29th, 2011 as the Children & Youth Director. Dena is a lifelong Methodist. She has been working with children and youth in both paid and volunteer settings for over 30 years. Her degree in Special Education and experience with children of all ages provides a unique perspective to Christian Education. Having taught preschool for many years as well as teaching the Word of God to children and youth, Dena is ready to focus on Christian Education.

Dena and her husband, Dennis, have three children and have just begun their life as empty nesters. Dena enjoys thinking creatively, always looking for new ways to bring the word of God alive. She hopes one day to publish some of the curriculum she has developed. She and Dennis sing in Chorale II, a community chorus in the Tucker area.
